***Salsa for Charity UPDATE***

Oh what a night!!

It was hot in more ways than just heat. Great classes, cracking tunes, it was a really brilliant vibe right from the start. So many people came out to support the night it was lovely to see.

Classes were fun and full, music was funky and mixed up and the dance floor was full till the end.

The charity raffle contributed £720.00 to the final sum, the smiling faces as people chose their prize was just wonderful to see. Total raised after a few expenses was £2,143.25 meaning we smashed our target of 1972.99.

Over the 10 years of running this event this means that the salsa community in Bristol has raised and contributed a whopping £20,000 to charity – how good is that.

My thanks go out to you all for your support – we could not do it without you who come to take part in the event.

My thanks to those that directly contributed on the day: Lee Swift for providing half the kit, our helpers Linda Bryant, Natasha Wheeler, Belinda Barrett, James Summerhill, Dee Evans. Our Teachers Eddie Hunt and Angela, Shahid Khan, Vijay Patel, Jason Flanaganand Clare, Julie Ann Hill, Dean David G and Becki Rendall and our DJ’s Lee Swift, Shaid Khan and Jason Flanagan.

A huge thank you to all those who donated prizes to the raffle – we could not have reached our target without this support.

And finally special thanks to my husband Andy who is my rock and supports me in all the things that I do.

Thank you all - much love Jools xxx

People who donated raffle prizes: -

Salsa for Charity Summer Party

9th July 2016

SALSA FOR CHARITY UPDATE - Total raised on the evening £2167.72.

With an extra amount committed by Darren Morgan to match the door taking committed, which will take the total to £3606.72.

The day after the night before :-)

Just coming back to life after a late night of loads of dancing, fun, partying, good feeling and generosity.

This was my 10th Year of running events for Salsa for Charity. Each year I have wondered several things. Will I be able to run it this year? Will I get enough teachers, Djs, helpers to be able to run the event? Will our local dancers turn up and support it?.

Well every year to date teachers, Djs, helpers and dancers have rallied round to support this event, to whom I am all totally grateful because it wouldn't work without you all.

And to add to it this year
- Lee Swift got in touch with several national promoters (see list below) which generated such fabulous raffle prizes, which subsequently raised a total of £712.72.
- The hall told me at the end of the night that there would be no charge for the hall hire since it was all in aid of charity.
- Sonja came to the event with her shoes and has added 10% of her profits currently totalling £16.00 plus more committed from orders taken at the party.
- And then Darren Morgan made his fabulous offer to match the door takings in memory of his loved one.

So our total raised (with committed amount) on 9th July 2016 was £3606.72.

This takes the total over the 10 years of raising monies for charities to £17,189.63.

My thanks to everyone:
- The teachers - Darran and Vava, Jim Edwards and Fran, Angus Peters and Sonja, Vijay, Jason Flanagon and Claire, Tim and Sakina.
- The Djs -Phil Heath, Tim Heasman, Mark Mather and Lee Swift
- The helpers - Jenny Oliver, Linda Bryant, Belinda Barrett, Steve Brittle, Gabriel, Lee and Phil
- Provision of pa, lights and other kit - Phil Heath

And to my wonderful husband Andy Lloyd who is always supportive of me through the whole thing.
